If you go down to the woods today, you're in for a big surprise

 "Are you sure that's where you want to go?!?!"

Truth, rumour, myth, local folklore ....

call it what you may;
but whatever it is, it has made a walk in Clapham Woods one to think twice about.

Behind this picturesque 13th Century Church which nestles quietly in the rolling South Downs,
lies a stretch of woodland with a sinister reputation, at odds with its idyllic situation.
There have been reported sightings of UFOs, crop circles in local fields, feelings of  nausea and general discomfort from walkers who felt they were being josteled from behind by a mysterious force.
Age old stories of dogs going missing, some never to return and those that do being either paralised, highly agitated and/or inexplicably aggressive.
There have even been four mysterious deaths, which have been linked to a Satanic Cult ... hmmmmmmm, was this such a good idea after all???

And so on this bright Spring day we step bravely into the deep, dark wood ....

and two hours later we emerge unscathed and full of bon hommie.
Lovely views, beautiful flowers, wildlife in abundance, a happy and contented dog, good company and two hours spent putting the world to rights.
Perfect.

No mysterious forces at work today  ....
..... !!!!
